Final Cut Pro X Through Edits, Extend Edits
by Richard Taylor
Sometimes I find that I made an edit to a clip and later decide I want to delete the edit. In previous versions of Final Cut Pro this was easy if it was a through edit. You could select the edit and delete it.
So what is a through edit? Basically it is the edit that the blade tool makes when you click a clip with it. There actually is no edit there even though visually it shows one. Final Cut Pro help calls a through edit " An edit point in which the video or audio content on either side of the edit is continuous."
In this tutorial, I show you how to get rid of a through edit in Final Cut Pro X. It does require a few steps. You'll also learn about the extend edit and trimming a clip to zero duration.
