“Show and Tell Night."
There is no better way to learn then to do it yourself, or watch what others have done.

I cannot accept anymore submisions to this months Show and Tell Night. So very sorry.

The agenda is set for this Wednesday's Show and Tell Night. Join us for a very special lacpug Meet. We don't do this often, but I guarantee you will learn much. Show and Tell night is my favorite Meet of the year. Plenty of seats left. Come and watch and participate.

NOTE: lacpug generally meets every 4th Wednesday of the Month. Meetings are open to public and ALL, beginning through advanced Digital Story Tellers are welcome. Digital projection made possible through the generous sponsorship of Adobe Systems, DVCreators, DigitalFilm Tree, OWC, VES and members like you. lacpug meetings are presented in association with the Barnsdall Gallery Theater, a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

Agenda (subject to change and availability)

6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus
Join Gurus Adam Bedford,
Michael Kammes and Philip Hodgetts as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCS and FCPX, Avid, Premiere Pro and anything else you can think of. If they can't solve your problem or answer your question, then you go home with a problem, but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.

- David Parke - First Sight
First Sight is a fun little short that explores the challenges of finding love in the city.
It was shot on a Canon 5D MkII in about 6 hours aboard 8 different trains
The short was one of the last I ever cut in FCP 7
The sound design was done after the edit was made. Eric sat in stations and rode on trains for a couple hours with two shotgun mice gathering stereo sound and then he cut in all the SFX.
Evan, the main actor, had some instrumental piano stuff he had been messing around with and pitched the melody to Daud who was into the idea of having an original silent movie-type score to a piece based mainly on nuance and eye-lines so we went with it. I think I had used some Thomas Newman stuff as temp so it fit in nicely. I adjusted the edit after laying it in to make certain moments hit at the right time, etc.
